Born in 1957 at Saint-Émile-de-Guyenne in Abitibi, Gaëtane Dion lived a good part of her childhood in the region of Quebec. Then, in 1968 her family settled in the Montérégie region. She also lived twenty or so years in Chambly before finally settling into Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu in 2004.
Gaëtane Dion has been painting for more than 35 years. The universe that enfolds her is a source of never ending inspiration as she searches to re-invent the world that so fascinates her. Vibrant colors and diverse impressions, at times serene, at times dramatic, co-habit and harmonize in her compositions. People, landscapes and still-life are explored side by side as they share the surface of the canvas.
